It is with great sadness that I have received the emotional word of the passing of our  special friend and classmate Robert "Bob" Matranga. He passed away over the weekend of March 14th and 15th 2020.

My condolences to his cherished wife Barbara and children, and the Matranga Family.  Bob was a beloved classmate of Galt High students.  We of the Class of '59 were honored to call him one of our own. His sense of humor was always welcome, and endeared him to his many friends.  RIP Good Buddy, you will never be forgotten nor the memories of the times with you lost.

More information will be posted here as it becomes available.

Such sad news, it is so easy to recall Bob’s smile and sense of humor. My deepest sympathy to Barbara and the Matranga family. This is a difficult time especially when so many will want to attend a memorial service for and to support his family. With deepest sympathy,

Barb Thiessen Lautt

Bob was a great friend and we remained in contact during these years and he always remained positive with his terrific sense of humor. Thank you Carl for the wonderful comments regarding Bob. All of our sympathies go out to the entire Matranga family. I have been in contact with his wife Barbara, and she will inform me of a future Celebration of Life for Bob. I will use this website to inform all classmates of this date. I have Barbara's address if any of you with to send your sympathy. Rest in Peace Dear Friend!

Every time I drive down liberty road and past the old Matranga Market I get a smile on my face thinking about him.
